...and again, many thanks. Looking forward to this, your previous work on EMI Melodiya releases has been very impressive. ASD pressings about that period were very good, and EMI chose good tapes to work with from that source. I suppose they may have tweaked the tapes a little, but what Melodiya LPs I have (from Colletts of Charing Cross Road) also sounded good, it was the pressings that let them down. plus that awful smelling glue they used on the sleeves.
ReplyDeleteHello Andrew,
ReplyDeleteThis was intended to be part of a series following the R-K/Glazunov's - last year!
The Sym 1 side was a Nightmare..from Cheapo-Cheapo when a lot of Fire Damaged stock had arrived!
Possibly too much crammed onto the LP - but Melodiya seemed to prefer Beefy/glamorized sonics mid-70's.
Nice compositions - although not exactly tightly-constructed!
Thanks for Glazunov & Arensky. I follow all your GREAT posts. Thanks for doing it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for providing some encouragement!
DeleteUn grand merci pour partager vos disques précieux avec une excellente restauration sonore
ReplyDeletePas trop de « restauration » car je crois que moins c'est plus !
DeleteDon't have the following ASD Arensky. The Piano Concerto (Kaplan 1962) tests my patience (c/w 1965 Neuhaus Scriabin PC - popular on BBC Radio 3 50+ years back..)
