Thanks, Tin Ear, for another fine transfer! I was not aware of this Chabrier disc, and it was interesting to read the two quite contrasting reviews from EMG and High Fidelity. My go-to recording for these works is typically the Paray/Detroit SO on Mercury (as mentioned in the review above), but your transfer sounds quite rich and dynamic. How did you decide to post this album?

    1. Its been very modestly downloaded so far (105: 2.5x the post-views) - far-far less than usual due to 'Mari' not being a Kleiber/Furtwangler et al (ie 1000's)!! But it's very good...
Busted's blog uploaded the Erato/Martinon Pierne 'Cydalise' ballet- and mentioned he'd also the Angel/Mari (which I've got, too - done the scans - & mentioned in this H-F review) - so as it was very powerful (and required no wash etc) - here it is.
Some Erato's turn up on WRC - like Martinon's 1968 Roussel Bacchus & Ariadne (have 2) - ballet (the RCA/Decca Dynagroove Chicago/Martinon suite with Ravel D&C sounds very good).
I've masses of later HMV/Decca etc post-1963 - the problem choosing a French EMI is they're very un-transparent.
There's a full-price reissue of Beroff's stunning Prokofiev PC2/3 (got the box from EMI in '74) which sounds abysmal - but the DMM/DRM HMV 'Master' from a few years later is fabulous.
Might upload the Martinon Fantastique from early '80s German HMV Studio - but quite unsure if it's DRM (I mentioned in your blog -Googling finds it..) - otherwise the Bernstein ASD - or the Rostropovitch OdP Russian ASD 3421... again a dreadful EMG review!!
I've the Paray/Mercury - but only the UK mono..
